What type of portraits do you do?

Modern, contemporary, informal and most importantly of all, FUN! I tailor your session very much around you, your family and friends. I am also happy to work with you on any ideas or props you want to incorporate

Can the shoot be outdoors?

Yes, the shoot can take place in your garden, local park, woods, fields or anywhere really. The bigger the variety of backgrounds and textures the more dynamic the photographs!

Where is best?

Anywhere with colour, texture and interesting backdrops. If you are struggling with a venue, I can make some local suggestions.

How long is the photo shoot?

For the studio shoot it will be around 1 hour and the outdoors shoot will be around 2 hours. I am pretty flexible so I’ll shoot until you get what you want.

What shall we wear?

Whatever you are comfortable in! The choice is entirely yours – just think about what you’d like to achieve in your pictures. Are you looking for a contemporary relaxed family picture? Then jeans work very well, and perhaps same coloured shirts. Maybe bring a couple of different outfits, bright colours for children are best – hats, sunglasses, props and favourite toys. Absolutely anything fun, the more the better!

I’d like my baby photographed – what works best?

The most intriguing part of photographing babies and very young children is that no two sessions are alike; you really never know what to expect! A baby can be grumpy one minute and gurgling the next. So, don’t worry, I’m prepared to do whatever “entertaining” is necessary to help your baby get settled.

Please do keep in mind your baby’s routine, and schedule a shoot around feeds and naps where possible. A tired and hungry baby won’t help make the most relaxed pictures!

When can I see my pictures?

They are normally available for viewing, via the password protected gallery area of my website, within 7-14 days of your portrait session.

How many images will I be able to choose from?

I expect to present between 50 and 70 images from your portrait session. This will be a mix of group shots, individual portraits, and shots of everyone playing and interacting together.

Can our friends and family order prints too?

I would be delighted if your family and friends choose to order prints too. You’ll be able to direct them to your password protected web gallery.  Ask your guests to contact me and I will be happy to discuss their requirements.

Who has copyright to the images, and can I buy the photographs on a memory stick?

I retain the copyright to all my images. However, you are welcome to buy individual images or the complete set of print-ready images on a memory stick. You will be granted a license to reproduce the images for your personal use, or to give to family and friends.

Do you have any professional accreditations?

I am a fully accredited member of the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers (SWPP).

Can you juggle?

Yes indeed, but only if the children are good!

Naturally, you may well have other questions for me and I would welcome the opportunity to answer them at our pre-shoot consultation.
